SIaS! at the Southwark Rooms
— Before this night, I hadn't been dancing for a long time. Strange thing was, I knew practically everyone there.”
J, J’s sister and fella and I all went down last Saturday to The Southwark Rooms to see the 6 Feet Underground DJs at their second Suck It and See! night.

It was a tough beat, on the face of it, filling the venue given its out-of-the-way location, but the collective did a good job and there were lots of friendly people in there on the night.
I don’t think I’ve ever been to a club and known so many people there. If I didn’t know people personally, I recognised them from photos. It was odd, I suppose. I spotted my cousin Dan almost as soon as I got in there, though partly because he’s a head and shoulders taller than most people.

I haven’t been dancing for a long time. This is not intentional, I should add, more that I haven’t really been anywhere worth dancing and / or my music and socialising tastes etc have changed substantially.
Great night. Was a bit hungover in Richmond the next day, but I really enjoyed it. We all did! Check out the gallery for some more photos.

I haven’t brandished a 12″ mix in anger for some years, but this weekend my name’s down and I am coming in.

Who you gonna call?
Hello you, I'm Mike Padgett. I'm not a Princeton curator, Knoxville mayoral candidate, Kentuckian pastor or Arizona journalist, I just share the same name. In fact, I am a consultant working in user experience and information design.
I also enjoy travel, concerts, films and walking.
I'm originally from Yorkshire, England but nowadays I live in Belgium. My current favourite Belgian beer is Black Albert.
Shameless self-promotion
Over a year in the making, Dopeology.org is my latest personal project: a topology of doping in thirty years of European pro road cycling.
I collected information from thousands of sources, then I modelled and published it via a lightweight user interface.
