Year of The Pig

Jeep Cherokee

Sunday 18th January was Chinese New Year. This year, it’s the Year Of The Pig and children born under this sign will be happy and honest. The Pig is also J’s birth year.

We marked the occasion by visiting the Lucky Dragon restaurant in Leeds with my parents and my brother.

Our car was in the garage for routine repairs, so we were provided with a courtesy car: this huge Jeep Cherokee, a 2.4 litre monster with an automatic gearbox.

This picture shows the entrance to what was the Leeds Mecca Locarno until 1969. [MeccaDancing.com also features a pic of the entrance as it looked back then.]
