Have you seen this pub?

— Two visits in one weekend to a pub whose presence has been dwarfed by an enormous road bypass.”

This is the Isis Tavern, down the Isis around Oxford somewhere in the direction of that horrible fumey Eastern bypass that has a Sainsbury’s on it at Heyford Hill.

The Isis Tavern, on the Isis, around Oxford somewhere

We went there twice last weekend, J and I. First time was Friday night in the company of my former colleague Jim the Crim Wilding.

On the Sunday we went again to meet Andy and Jax. Apart from the disgusting language of a few sco-fo’s that had obviously crawled out of some nearby estate or other, both occasions were pleasant. We sat at the middle of the row nearest the building, if you were wondering. Hello to you if you were there. Nice place.

And what a pleasant evening it was too. Continuing with the IE thread, I have found it wholly unstable, but I was expecting nothing more from Microsoft.

Hello you, I'm Mike Padgett. I'm not a Princeton curator, Knoxville mayoral candidate, Kentuckian pastor or Arizona journalist, I just share the same name. In fact, I am a consultant working in user experience and information design.

I also enjoy travel, concerts, films and walking.

I'm originally from Yorkshire, England but nowadays I live in Belgium. My current favourite Belgian beer is Black Albert.
